Detox
2 litresConcentrated apple juice
100g Fresh coriander, chopped
50g Dried liquorice Root, beaten
200g Fresh Burdock Root, chopped
200g Fresh Dandelion Root chopped
30g Fresh ginger, grated
25g Dried Sarsaparilla Root
20g Fennel seeds
20g Dried yellow dock root
20g Dried Echinacea
20g Dried Milk Thistle
20g Dried Cascara Sagrada
20g Dried Red Clover blossoms
20g Cloves
Vitamin C.
Boiling water
Find your dandelions and burdocks, both of which
grow almost anywhere, dig up the roots, bring home and wash.
Discard all green parts, which are unpleasantly bitter in
both plants.
Macerate the fresh ingredients in apple juice concentrate
for one week in the fridge, stirring daily, then strain to
remove solids.
Pour water over dried ingredients, and leave to steep for
one week, then strain off liquid. Or buy ready prepared liquid
extracts of these ingredients, which are available in most
health stores.
Mix the two liquids, add Vitamin C (ascorbic acid), bottle
and pasteurise. You can do this by putting the bottles in
the dishwasher for one cycle at 65 degrees (hot). Make sure
the bottles are well sealed and not overfilled, or the tops
will blow off during pasteurisation.
